Operation of the transmission is controlled by the TCM which electrically
activates various solenoids to control the
transmission gear selection. The sequence of solenoid activation is based on
programmed information in the TCM memory
and physical transmission operating conditions such as vehicle
Terrain Response Switchpack (TR)
Terrain Response Control Module (ATCM)
CAUTION: Diagnosis
by substitution from a donor vehicle is NOT acceptable. Substitution of control
modules does
not guarantee confirmation of a fault, and may also cause additional faults in
the vehicle being tested and/or the donor
vehicle.
